Using a Project Professional Competency Framework to Deliver Better Business Outcomes: There is no shortage of people who are driven towards getting great project results, which is not surprising really as there are few things better for turbo-charging career prospects than successfully delivering change. And unfortunately, it doesn’t happen nearly enough.
It’s tempting to fix our stare on the project manager and wonder whether they’re truly competent for the task at hand, and while it may be easier to send him (or her) on a training course, a better plan may be to look at competency in the context of an integrated competency development framework.
Taking an integrated approach to developing competency makes sure that all elements of the organisational project management environment are considered, which is far more likely to lead to superior business results.
