The Value of a High-Performing PMO

In 2021, the Project Management Research Institute (PMI)—the world’s leading authority on project management—developed the PMO Maturity Index.

The purpose of the PMO Maturity Index is to benchmark and assess the performance of PMOs against five success factors:

• Governance
• Integration and alignment
• Processes
• Technology and data
• People

It suggests that a high-performing PMO will deliver on multiple aspects across each key dimension. Allowing the PMO to have greater influence and impact in their organisation and ultimately deliver more successful project outcomes.
